Having previously had a CC on my Moto Guzzi Stelvio I had little hesitation in ordering one for the Italian Pile Poacher. I ordered online over the weekend of the ABR festival and the cover was still dispatched to me on the Monday in time for a trip up around the Scottish Highlands. There was a little bit of tweaking required through the way that the Ducati seat is bolted on through the sides and I finished up sandwiching the cover with the bolt through the inner section after cutting off the CC label which was exactly positioned in the wrong place. Some manual adjustments to allow the rear seat to sit down on its bump stops and we were away.
Did I mention that the standard Ducati seat gets hot from the rear cylinder? – not anymore! WOW what a revelation, I genuinely cannot believe what a difference it has made on this Ducati, even having had a CC already on a different bike.
Our trip had many torrential showers and each day was 6 hours in the saddle, I’m not new to this kind of thing but after 4 days my butt was in the best shape ever, even reducing and almost eliminating my coccyx pain from an old MTB crash that usually puts in appearance as I sit down for the first beer of the evening, it is worth it for that alone.
